Is it still a cover if they’re still technically Billie Joe Armstrong’s songs?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Billie Joe Armstrong’s side project The Longshot<\/strong> recently did a short run of live appearances, and at their show in Oakland they pulled out a few Green Day<\/strong> covers.<\/p>\n

Are they actually covers if they’re still Billie Joe’s songs? We aren’t 100% certain on the intricacies here, but basically – Billie Joe performed some Green Day songs with The Longshot in tiny venues recently, and we wish we were there.<\/p>\n

Fans were treated to a setlist featuring a handful of originals off their 2018 album ‘Love Is For Losers’, plus some cool covers at the intimate shows- including three Green Day covers, and covers of songs by The Rolling Stones<\/strong> and The Ramones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Green Day covers in question are all from their trilogy of albums ‘Uno’, ‘Dos’ and ‘Tr\u00e9’ – check out the fan-shot videos below.<\/p>\n
