Gary Busey<\/a>, an award-winning actor whose inimitable ramblings could be construed as gospel<\/a>, will play the role of God in an upcoming Off-Broadway<\/a> musical<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Only Human<\/em>, Busey will play \u201cthe Boss,\u201d as he\u2019s referred to in the musical, which put a clever spin on a biblical tale.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore they were enemies, they were co-workers. Jesus and Lucifer never saw eye-to-eye, but when an extreme case of creative differences gets the best of them, all hell breaks loose\u2026literally,\u201d the musical\u2019s synopsis states. \u201cA hilarious new musical of biblical proportions, Only Human<\/em> shakes up heaven with kick-ass pop rock tunes and corporate attire.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGod is everything love is and that love becomes the beginning of blessings and miracles,\u201d Busey said in a statement. \u201cPlaying this role of God is easy because I\u2019m not acting, I\u2019m just believing. You come see it and you\u2019ll believe it too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Only Human<\/em>, based on a story by Jesse Murphy (formerly a creative executive for Marlon Wayans\u2019 company and co-founder of Jesse|James Films) and Mike Squillante, features a book by Jess Carson, music and lyrics by Mike Squillante and is directed by NJ Agwuna. Busey\u2019s castmates will be announced in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
