Courtney Barnett<\/a> joined Wilco<\/a> onstage for a \u201ckaraoke\u201d performance of \u201cHandshake Drugs\u201d at the band\u2019s Solid Sound Festival<\/a> this weekend.<\/p>\n

The annual festival, which takes place at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, featured a set on Friday called \u201cWilco Karaoke,\u201d where other artists and fans could sing Wilco songs backed by the band. Leading up to the weekend\u2019s festivities, Wilco hosted a contest for 10 winners to be the lead singer of the band for karaoke, which also featured guests like Barnett, who delivered a melodic rendition of the track from the band\u2019s 2004 album A Ghost Is Born<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to Jambase<\/a>, Wilco classics performed by fans and friends included \u201cNothing\u2019severgonnastandinmyway(again),\u201d \u201cHeavy Metal Drummer,\u201d \u201cDawned on Me,\u201d \u201cPoor Places\u201d as well as a cover of Daniel Johnston\u2019s \u201cTrue Love Will Find You in the End.\u201d<\/p>\n

During a performance of \u201cWe Aren\u2019t the World (Safety Girl),\u201d Yuka Honda (Wilco guitarist Nels Cline\u2019s wife) came onstage, and frontman Jeff Tweedy\u2019s son Sammy Tweedy sang \u201cI\u2019m Always In Love.\u201d The band later concluded \u201cWilco Karaoke\u201d with an encore of \u201cJesus, Etc.\u201d and \u201cCalifornia Stars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other artists featured on the lineup for the three-day festival that takes place from June 28-June 30, include the Feelies, the Minus 5, Cate Le Bon and OHMME.<\/p>\n

Wilco recently expanded their fall North American tour<\/a> with a second New York show at Brooklyn Steel on October 13th. The 29-date tour is set to run through November.<\/p>\n
