Bette Midler<\/a> headlined New York\u2019s World Pride main event Saturday night at the Javits Center in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. During her performance of her 1973 hit single \u201cFriends\u201d accompanied by composer Marc Shaiman of Hairspray<\/em> fame, she took a moment to bite back at President Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow I\u2019m going to tell you a little secret,\u201d she told the crowd, teasing that she was surprised she was invited to the event because Trump recently called her a \u201cwashed-up psycho<\/a>.\u201d \u201cJust two weeks ago, I was a washed-up psycho. I recovered completely, and something I learned from my president\u2019s lunatic attack\u2026,\u201d she said before transitioning back into \u201cFriends\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to Midler, Cyndi Lauper<\/a> performed a medley of songs including an EDM rendition of her hits \u201cTime After Time\u201d and \u201cTrue Colors.\u201d Performers also included Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s choreographer Chris Grant, Pose<\/em> actor Billy Porter and musician Brandy, who paid tribute to Whitney Houston. There was also a special honor for the musical Stomp<\/em>, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in New York in 2019.<\/p>\n
