{"id":487872,"date":"2019-07-10T13:25:27","date_gmt":"2019-07-10T19:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=857535"},"modified":"2019-07-10T13:25:27","modified_gmt":"2019-07-10T19:25:27","slug":"jethro-tull-prep-first-official-biography-the-ballad-of-jethro-tull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/jethro-tull-prep-first-official-biography-the-ballad-of-jethro-tull\/","title":{"rendered":"Jethro Tull Prep First Official Biography \u2018The Ballad of Jethro Tull\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/jethro-tull-50th-anniversary-tour-2019-768352\/\">massive 50th anniversary tour<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/jethro-tull-detail-massive-50th-anniversary-compilation-205589\/\">lengthy compilation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/jethro-tull\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jethro-tull\" data-tag=\"jethro-tull\">Jethro Tull<\/a> announced their first official book. <em>The Ballad of Jethro Tull<\/em> \u2014 a lavishly illustrated history of the band \u2014 is set for release in November.<\/p>\n<p>In an informative video from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ian-anderson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ian-anderson\" data-tag=\"ian-anderson\">Ian Anderson<\/a>, the frontman details the book and its two versions. \u201cYou\u2019ll see there\u2019s a choice of two editions of the book, one of which comes with a seven-inch vinyl record of me reading a specially written poem called \u2018The Ballad of Jethro Tull,&#8217;\u201d he says while gripping his signature flute. \u201cWith musical backing from some old friends, too!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The b-side of the 7\u2033 features Anderson reading an 1808 Walter Scott poem titled \u2018Marmion\u2019 alongside a cathedral organ. It will only be available with the signature edition, limited to 500 copies and signed by Anderson himself. Two art prints are also included.<\/p>\n<p>The band, which kicked off its 50th anniversary tour last year, have extended the shows well into 2019.
