Do your kids need more Metallica<\/a> in their lives? The band is here to help with a new illustrated children\u2019s book, The ABCs of Metallica<\/em>, to be released November 26th in stores and online.<\/p>\n

The brightly colored tome was co-written by the band with writer Howie Abrams and illustrated by Michael \u201cKaves\u201d McLeer, who previously participated in Metallica\u2019s Obey Your Master<\/em> exhibit in 2012. \u201cIncluding rhymes and illustrations, The ABCs of Metallica<\/cite> looks back at the history of the band from, duh, A to Z!\u201d the band wrote on their website<\/a>. \u201cEach letter of the alphabet highlights a moment along our journey from Garage Days<\/cite> to Master of Puppets<\/cite> to fun facts about us.\u201d<\/p>\n

A portion of the proceeds will benefit All Within My Hands<\/a>, Metallica\u2019s charity foundation, which is \u201cdedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.\u201d Fans can preorder the the book, which is also available in bundles with Young Metal Attack merch, online now<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Metallica are on tour for most of the summer, performing in stadiums and festivals around Europe. In September the band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1999 live LP, S&M,<\/em> which featured the San Francisco Symphony. They\u2019ll play two nights<\/a> at San Francisco\u2019s Chase Center, where they\u2019ll once again perform with the symphony. Tickets are currently on sale.<\/p>\n
