President Donald Trump<\/a> tweeted Friday that he would look into A$AP Rocky<\/a>\u2019s continued incarceration<\/a> in Sweden after talking to Kanye West<\/a> about the situation. \u201cJust spoke to @KanyeWest about his friend A$AP Rocky\u2019s incarceration,\u201d Trump wrote<\/a>. \u201cI will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky. So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s tweet comes soon after it was revealed that both West and Kim Kardashian lobbied the White House<\/a>, specifically Trump advisor\/son-in-law Jared Kushner, to push for A$AP Rocky\u2019s release from a Swedish detention center, where the rapper has been held for suspected \u201cgross assault\u201d since his arrest<\/a> on July 2nd. A$AP Rocky has maintained his innocence.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters Friday, Trump said First Lady Melania Trump initially told him about A$AP Rocky\u2019s predicament. \u201cA$AP Rocky is a situation in Sweden. Sweden is a great country, and they\u2019re friends of mine,\u201d Trump explained, adding that \u201cI have been called by so many people\u201d in regards to A$AP Rocky, who has \u201ctremendous support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Melania Trump added (via CNN<\/a>), \u201cWe\u2019ll be working with the State Department and we hope to get him home soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kardashian tweeted<\/a> Thursday, \u201cThank you @realDonaldTrump , @SecPompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free ASAP Rocky & his two friends. Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star previously recruited the president\u2019s help in commuting the prison sentence of Alice Marie Johnson in June 2018.<\/p>\n

Authorities in Sweden have until July 25th to complete their investigation into the alleged A$AP Rocky assault. Swedish Prime Minister Stefan L\u00f6fven has not commented on A$AP Rocky\u2019s arrest on social media.<\/p>\n
