Slipknot<\/a> examine the concept of \u201cliving a lie\u201d on their pummeling new song \u201cSolway Firth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

After the track\u2019s atmospheric swirl explodes into rabid riffs and double kick-drum patterns, frontman Corey Taylor screams, \u201cI will settle for a slaughterhouse soaked in blood and betrayal\/ It\u2019s always somebody else; somebody else was me\/ You want the real smile or the one I used to practice, not to feel like a failure?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The metal octet paired the single with a gruesome video that alternates head-banging live performance footage with violent clips from the upcoming Amazon black-comedy superhero series The Boys<\/em>. Bloody scenes include a man holding two severed arms and one character bashing someone\u2019s head into a bathroom sink.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSolway Firth\u201d is the second song Slipknot have released from their upcoming sixth LP, We Are Not Your Kind<\/em>, following lead single \u201cUnsainted.\u201d<\/a> They recently promoted the record, which follows 2014\u2019s .5: The Gray Chapter<\/em><\/a>, by performing<\/a> the latter track and standalone 2018\u2019s \u201cAll Out Life\u201d<\/a> on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Slipknot\u2019s Knotfest Roadshow North American tour<\/a> \u2014 featuring special guests Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth on all dates \u2014 launches July 26th in Mountain View, California and wraps September 8th in The Woodlands, Texas. The band\u2019s live itinerary also includes slots at the Louder Than Life and Aftershock festivals, along with a brief run of Australia and New Zealand in October and November.<\/span><\/p>\n
