Brittany Howard<\/a> has shared her soulful new song \u201cHe Loves Me,\u201d the Alabama Shakes<\/a> singer\u2019s contemplative track about reconnecting with God from her upcoming debut solo LP Jaime<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019He Loves Me\u2019 is a very important track on my record. It is a song I deeply want to share to help others realize loving and being loved by God doesn\u2019t have to look the same for everyone,\u201d Howard said of the track in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen my older sister passed away, it took its toll on our family. We grew apart from one another and therefore, we grew apart from our family church. I thought God had intended to hurt us or punish us, but I later realized that I found God in music and I found God in my voice. I learned that He always had a plan for myself and my family. That is what \u2018He Loves Me\u2019 is about. It is my greatest realization that He has never left me. All those years that I had turned away, I was still receiving His absolute love and forgiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The track, which premiered Wednesday as Zane Lowe\u2019s Apple Music World Record, features samples from a sermon by Reverend Terry K. Anderson, a Houston-based pastor Howard discovered on YouTube.<\/p>\n

Howard also unveiled a new \u201clive session\u201d music video for \u201cHe Loves Me,\u201d directed by photographer Danny Clinch and filmed at Nashville\u2019s Sound Emporium:<\/p>\n
