The arrangement gradually swells with shakers, snare, buzzing guitar drones, Moore\u2019s airy croon and a climactic surge of feedback.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Moore will release \u201cLeave Me Alone\u201d as the B-side to a trio of seven-inch records (\u201cPollination,\u201d \u201cSwing Swells\u201d and \u201cThree Graces: Alice Moki Jayne\u201d), out November 8th, featuring excerpts from Thurston Moore Group shows recorded throughout 2019. The three singles follow the band\u2019s upcoming triple-CD box set, <em>Spirit Counsel<\/em>, out September 21st.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The guitarist told <a href=\"https:\/\/thequietus.com\/articles\/27083-thurston-moore-new-track-leave-me-alone\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Quietus<\/em><\/a> that his \u201cLeave Me Alone\u201d cover originated from a residency with the artist Radieux Radio in Salford, England. \u201cWe were recording at Islington Mill, and Radieux was especially curious about exploring the area because of these musicians we both really admire (Joy Division and New Order being especially important to Radieux),\u201d he said. \u201cThere are so many bands \u2014 a long list when you\u2019re ready for it \u2014 from that area that have been and remain truly important to me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAnyway, Radieux, who is even more of an analogue snooty pants than I am, had an original cassette of [New Order album] <em>Power, Corruption and Lies<\/em>&nbsp;and played this tape, and particularly played the one song \u2018Leave Me Alone,&#8217;\u201d he continued. \u201cRadieux kept almost ritually rewinding the cassette and playing this song over and over until it was lodged in our brains.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Moore\u2019s live schedule includes a run of international dates in October and November, followed by a U.S. run that launches December 2nd in Woodstock, New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/thurston-moore-cover-new-order-leave-me-alone-883057\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thurston Moore adds a folky tranquility to New Order\u2019s \u201cLeave Me Alone\u201d with his new cover of the 1983 post-punk track.
