Alessia Cara<\/a> appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden<\/a><\/em> Thursday night to perform \u201c7 Days,\u201d a track from her November 2018 album The Pains of Growing<\/em>. Wearing a shirt that said \u201cagitprop\u201d and backed only by a shadowy band, Cara spoke directly to God throughout the song, referencing the \u201canti-social media\u201d and chaotic political era through her lyrics: \u201cOh, the land of poor taste\/The spectacle of cut and paste that we\u2019ve made\/Would you say, please say it was worth the seven days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cara released her latest EP This Summer<\/em> last week, featuring the songs \u201cOkay Okay,\u201d<\/a> \u201cOctober,\u201d<\/a> \u201cRooting for You\u201d<\/a> and \u201cReady.\u201d<\/a> She also made her Spanish-language single debut this year, performing \u201cQuerer Mejor\u201d<\/a> as a duet with Colombian pop-rock singer Juanes.<\/p>\n

The singer just wrapped her stint as an opener on Shawn Mendes\u2019 North American tour, and will head out on her own headlining tour this fall, beginning October 21st in Boston and ending at Houston\u2019s Revention Center in November.<\/p>\n
