The new version of the song was revealed in conjunction with the Empire State Building\u2019s themed light-up on Sunday, where the NYC skyscraper was illuminated in the red, yellow and blue of the <em>Friends<\/em> logo.<\/p>\n<p>Warner Brothers approached Trainor, a self-described diehard&nbsp;<em>Friends<\/em> fan, to cover the theme song around the anniversary. \u201cI\u2019ve seen every episode multiple times now,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/meghan-trainor-friends-theme-song-cover-25th-anniversary-884396\/\">recently told<\/a> <em>Rolling Stone.<\/em>&nbsp;\u201cI can\u2019t believe they even thought of me to sing this cover. It was a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonored to be a part of @FriendsTV\u2019s 25th anniversary and I\u2019m geeked to see the @EmpireStateBldg lights goin off to my cover of \u2018I\u2019ll be there For You,&#8217;\u201d the singer added <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Meghan_Trainor?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll Be There For You\u201d was co-written by the Rembrandts, <em>Friends<\/em> creators&nbsp; Marta Kauffman and David Crane, Kauffman\u2019s husband Michael Skloff and songwriter Alee Willis. To replicate the tune, Trainor enlisted her family to sing in the background. \u201cI actually cut the vocals in my backyard in my studio, with my little brother, my older brother, my husband, and my best friend,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd we were just all laughing and in disbelief.
