Tegan and Sara<\/a> visited The Late Show<\/em> Friday \u2013 the day both their new album Hey, I\u2019m Just Like You<\/em> and memoir High School<\/em><\/a> were released \u2013 to perform \u201cI\u2019ll Be Back Someday\u201d and sit down with Stephen Colbert to discuss the projects.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to write our origin story,\u201d Sara Quin told Colbert. \u201cWe started writing our first songs at 15 so we wanted to write that story. And then, it wasn\u2019t just a music memoir; it really started to be about our identity as twin sisters, and as songwriters, as creative people and also \u2013 hold on \u2013 we\u2019re queer as well, so we cover that as well. It\u2019s all those things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hey, I\u2019m Just Like You finds the sisters re-recording songs they penned in their teen years in the 1990s. \u201cThings that young people can say that adults can\u2019t say to each other,\u201d Tegan described the songs.<\/p>\n
