Post Malone<\/a>\u2019s \u201cCircles\u201d ruled the<\/span> RS<\/span><\/em><\/a> 100<\/a> for yet another week. Thanks to more than 19 million streams and 14,000 downloads, Malone\u2019s hit stayed in front of \u201cRansom,\u201d the ubiquitous, sing-song rap single from 17-year-old Lil Tecca. <\/span><\/p>\n

Malone has dominated the RS<\/em> 100 since the release of his album<\/span> Hollywood\u2019s Bleeding<\/span><\/em>. He appeared on 17 different charting songs this week. But Malone\u2019s tight grip on the upper reaches of the chart loosened slightly this week. While \u201cGoodbyes,\u201d \u201cTake What You Want,\u201d and \u201cEnemies\u201d all remained in the Top Ten, they slipped down to positions Eight, Nine, and Ten respectively. <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, a Sam Feldt and Rani single titled \u201cPost Malone\u201d also debuted on the latest RS<\/em> 100 at Number 97. \u201cPost Malone\u201d is one of several examples of artists seeing stream boosts after naming songs after massive artists or songs<\/a>. In an email to Rolling Stone earlier this month, the Dutch DJ said he chose to name it Post Malone simply because it sounded better.  \u201cIf we\u2019d used 50 Cent,\u201d he said, \u201cit wouldn\u2019t have fit in the track.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But Malone\u2019s tight grip on the upper reaches of the chart<\/span> loosened slightly this week. The<\/span> Rolling Stone<\/span><\/em> Top 100 chart tracks the most popular songs of the week in the United States. Songs are ranked by song units, a number that combines audio streams and song sales using a custom weighting system. The chart does not include passive listening like terrestrial radio or digital radio. The<\/span> Rolling Ston<\/span><\/em>e Top 100 chart is updated daily, and each week<\/span> Rolling Stone<\/span><\/em> finalizes and publishes an official version of the chart, covering the seven-day period ending with the previous Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the rapper DaBaby debuted at Number Four with \u201cIntro,\u201d the lead single from his Kirk<\/em> album, with 16.7 million streams. A pair of his label-mates also debuted on the latest<\/span> RS<\/span><\/em> 100. Maroon 5\u2019s new ballad \u201cMemories\u201d arrived at Number 19, while the 17-year-old rapper Lil Mosey\u2019s \u201cStuck on a Dream\u201d climbed to 49. <\/span><\/p>\n

Next week, expect a lot more DaBaby on the<\/span> RS<\/span><\/em> 100<\/span>:<\/span><\/em> Kirk<\/span><\/em> has already amassed close to 70 million streams, with album cuts like \u201cBop,\u201d \u201cVibez,\u201d \u201cOff the Rip,\u201d and \u201cToes\u201d all earning more than five million each.<\/span><\/p>\n
