{"id":490794,"date":"2019-10-02T05:43:10","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T11:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=893408"},"modified":"2019-10-02T05:43:10","modified_gmt":"2019-10-02T11:43:10","slug":"hear-big-thiefs-caring-new-song-forgotten-eyes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/hear-big-thiefs-caring-new-song-forgotten-eyes\/","title":{"rendered":"Hear Big Thief\u2019s Caring New Song \u2018Forgotten Eyes\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/BigThief.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/big-thief\/\">Big Thief<\/a> have released their second \u2014 and final \u2014 pre-release single from their second album this year, <em>Two Hands<\/em>, out October 11th.<\/p>\n<p>The song, called \u201cForgotten Eyes,\u201d offers up the band\u2019s trademark introspection and raw lyrics, reminding us to care for those around us: \u201c<span class=\"s1\">Forgotten eyes are the ones which we lose\/<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Forgotten hands are the ones which we choose\u2026<\/span><span class=\"s1\">The wound has no direction\/<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Everybody needs a home and deserves protection.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Two Hands<\/em> follows up Big Thief\u2019s May release,&nbsp;<em>U.F.O.F<\/em>, and lead singer\/songwriter Adrianne Lenker described the two as interconnected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>U.F.O.F.<\/em> is meant to be more focused on the immeasurable, sort of suspended ethereal playing with textures and colors and layering in the production, staring out into the abyss,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stereogum.com\/featured\/big-thief-two-hands-ufof-interview\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">she told Stereogum<\/a>. \u201cAnd <em>Two Hands<\/em>&nbsp;is more the micro, zooming into the blood and tissue and guts of being a human, the raw, bare, naked bones, not much layering, capturing just our performances in the room, just very dry, no reverbs, just skin and flesh and human, finite, physical.
