Residing in a 20-bedroom Victorian estate called Big Indian Springs, Vile spent time preparing for the record\u2019s release and rehearsing for an extensive tour.<\/p>\n<p>A year later, Matador Records has released <em>(bottle back)<\/em>, a mini-documentary that captures the Philly songwriter\u2019s peaceful stint in the mountains. \u201cThis was the perfect lost weekend,\u201d Vile told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/kurt-vile-bottle-it-in-interview-733191\/\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cI\u2019m ready to grab life by the balls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clocking in around 20 minutes, the intimate clip features an array of Vile\u2019s songs, including an acoustic version of \u201cBassackwards\u201d on a rainy porch, \u201cCheck Baby\u201d with his band the Violators and a fireside rendition of \u201cBaby\u2019s Arms\u201d with Canadian country-rock outfit the Sadies. \u201cWe\u2019re definitely still rusty, but rusty is good,\u201d Vile says while walking through the lush countryside. \u201cThere\u2019s a fine line between rusty and slick, and you can be too much of either one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After concluding his North American summer tour, Vile will embark on a brief fall leg, performing several dates with Dinosaur Jr. The trek will kick off on October 5th at the Fillmore in San Francisco and cap on November 17th at Mexico City\u2019s Corona Capital Music Festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kurt Vile Tour Dates<\/strong><br \/>October 5th \u2014&nbsp;San Francisco, CA @ The Fillmore<br \/>October 6th \u2014&nbsp;San Francisco, CA @ Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival<br \/>November 6th \u2014 Denver, CO @ The Mission Ballroom<br \/>November 8th \u2014 Oklahoma City, OK @ The Criterion<br \/>November 9th \u2014 Houston, TX @ White Oak Music Hall<br \/>November 10th \u2014 Levitation Festival @ Austin, TX<br \/>November 17th \u2014 Mexico City, Mexico @ Corona Capital Music Festival<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/kurt-vile-upstate-new-york-new-documentary-893865\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A month before the release of his excellent 2018 album Bottle It In, Kurt Vile retreated to the Catskills in Upstate New York for a weekend of solace.
