The hip-hop festival\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/hong-kong\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hong-kong\" data-tag=\"hong-kong\">Hong Kong<\/a> edition, which was originally scheduled to take place this weekend, has been nixed over security concerns following months of political unrest and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/29-stunning-photos-from-the-hong-kong-protests-which-arent-ending-anytime-soon-880766\/\">police brutality against demonstrators<\/a> over Mainland China\u2019s influence over the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter consulting with security experts, it has been determined that it is not possible to organize the upcoming Rolling Loud Hong Kong edition as we had hoped without endangering the safety of our fans, artists, and staff,\u201d Rolling Loud said in a statement via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pollstar.com\/article\/rolling-loud-hong-kong-canceled-amid-security-concerns-in-politically-turbulent-territory-141358\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><em>Pollstar<\/em><\/a>. \u201cWhile we regret having to cancel the festival, this is not a decision that has been taken lightly and we look forward to bringing the Rolling Loud festival experience to Hong Kong in the future to celebrate the city\u2019s rich culture and buzzing hip-hop music scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Migos, Wiz Khalifa and Playboi Carti were among the artists scheduled for the Hong Kong event. The multi-city hip-hop festival announced moves into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rolling-loud-new-festival-dates-new-york-856868\/\">Hong Kong and New York<\/a> last summer; it made its Sydney, Australia debut in January.
