{"id":491316,"date":"2019-10-16T10:09:14","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T16:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=899798"},"modified":"2019-10-16T10:09:14","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T16:09:14","slug":"hear-lee-scratch-perry-recruit-brian-eno-for-here-come-the-warm-dreads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/hear-lee-scratch-perry-recruit-brian-eno-for-here-come-the-warm-dreads\/","title":{"rendered":"Hear Lee \u2018Scratch\u2019 Perry Recruit Brian Eno for \u2018Here Come the Warm Dreads\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/lee-scratch-perry-brian-eno.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Two of music\u2019s most adventurous producers \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/brian-eno\/\" id=\"auto-tag_brian-eno\" data-tag=\"brian-eno\">Brian Eno<\/a> and Lee \u201cScratch\u201d Perry \u2014 collide on \u201cHere Come the Warm Dreads,\u201d a new track off the dub legend\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/lee-scratch-perry-new-album-heavy-rain-brian-eno-887116\/\">upcoming LP <em>Heavy Rain<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the five-minute near-instrumental \u2014 a play on Eno\u2019s own 1974 LP <em>Here Come the Warm Jets<\/em> \u2014 Eno puts his own atmospheric, dubbed-out spin on Perry\u2019s \u201cMakumba Rock,\u201d a cut of the reggae artist\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/lee-scratch-perry-new-album-new-song-african-starship-800959\/\">2019 album <em>Rainford.<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;<em>Heavy Rain<\/em>, orchestrated by Perry and co-producer and On-U Sound label head Adrian Sherwood, features dub reworkings of <em>Rainford<\/em>\u2018s tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we approached Brian about working on a track he didn\u2019t hesitate and said he would happily do something with Lee \u2018Scratch\u2019 Perry,\u201d Sherwood said in a statement (<a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/lee-scratch-perry-and-brian-eno-share-new-song-here-come-the-warm-dreads-listen\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">via Pitchfork<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe worked together on a quick dub version of the track and took what was a crazy tune even further out there.
