Frank Ocean<\/a>\u2019s creative brand Blonded will host its first queer club night, PrEP+, somewhere in New York City tonight, October 17th.<\/p>\n

According to a statement, tonight\u2019s event will be the first in a series of club nights dedicated to creating a safe space for people to meet and dance. The event will feature \u201cglobally celebrated DJs,\u201d though no lineup has been announced. Links to tickets have reportedly been given out and the venue will be revealed to ticket holders later today.<\/p>\n

PrEP+ takes its name from the HIV prevention drug, pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP. The event is described as \u201can homage to what could have been of the 1980s\u2019 NYC club scene if the drug PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) \u2014 which can be taken daily to prevent HIV\/AIDs for those who are not infected but are at high risk \u2014 had been invented in that era.\u201d<\/p>\n

PrEP+ does feature a handful of strict house rules, including no photos or videos, mandatory consent, zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind and, most importantly: \u201cThe dance floor is for dancing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Frank Ocean\u2019s last album, Blonde<\/i><\/a>, arrived in 2016, while the following year he released a string of one-off tracks including, \u201cChanel,\u201d<\/a> \u201cLens\u201d<\/a> and \u201cBiking,\u201d<\/a> featuring Jay-Z and Tyler, the Creator.<\/p>\n

Last year, he dropped a cover of the Henry Mancini\/Johnny Mercer standard, \u201cMoon River.\u201d<\/a> In a recent interview<\/a> with W Magazine<\/i><\/a>, Ocean said he\u2019s working on a new album and said it\u2019s influenced by \u201cDetroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic\u201d club music.<\/p>\n
