Hop Along<\/a>\u2019s Frances Quinlan<\/a> has dropped a new song, \u201cRare Thing.\u201d The track is the first single off Quinlan\u2019s debut LP Likewise<\/em>, out January 31st via Saddle Creek.<\/p>\n

A chaotic rocker featuring ambient percussion and harp, the track is about a dream Quinlan had about her infant niece. \u201cMy love, in the dream, you were already speaking,\u201d she sings, concluding in the song\u2019s final seconds: \u201cI have to stop myself and admit you make me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Likewise<\/em> was recorded at Philadelphia\u2019s Headroom Studios with Hop Along guitarist Joe Reinhart. \u201cWorking with Joe on this made me able to better see that the guitar is just one vehicle,\u201d she said in a statement. \u201cThere are so many others to explore.\u201d<\/p>\n

The album cover features a self-portrait by Quinlan. Two hundred and fifty limited edition copies<\/a> of the album will be pressed on white and blue marbled vinyl with two autographed prints of artwork.<\/p>\n

Quinlan will play a brief trek in 2020 in support of Likewise, kicking off at Chicago\u2019s Tomorrow Never Knows Festival at Sleeping Village and wrapping up at San Diego\u2019s Casbah on March 14th.<\/p>\n
