Whether with H\u00fcsker D\u00fc, Sugar or as a solo artist, Bob Mould<\/a> has always sung about taking on the world alone.<\/p>\n

Now he\u2019ll be doing just that on a unique tour where he\u2019ll be performing with only his electric guitar to accompany him. He\u2019s done it before, but this time he\u2019ll be bringing the show to venues that are new to him around the East Coast. The tour, which features former Centro-Matic frontman Will Johnson as support, follows a full-band tour in support of his recent, surprisingly upbeat Sunshine Rock <\/em>album.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe past few months have been both busy and exciting,\u201d Mould said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s great to be back on the road, I\u2019ve got a lot of momentum, and with this run of dates I\u2019m bringing my louder solo show into venues I\u2019ve not played before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mould recently allowed one of his solo electric shows to be filmed for Germany\u2019s Radio Eins. Video from the performance<\/a> shows him singing H\u00fcsker D\u00fc\u2019s \u201cI Apologize\u201d and his solo song \u201cThe War,\u201d off his Beauty & Ruin <\/em>album. The footage shows the audience gently pogoing along, as Mould finds his own internal rhythm.<\/p>\n

In a Rolling Stone <\/em><\/a>interview earlier this year, Mould said he wasn\u2019t worried about his more positive Sunshine Rock <\/em>songs blending in with his teeth-gnashing punk classics on the road. \u201cIt just becomes this one big song in a way,\u201d he said. \u201cSomebody once tweeted something like, \u2018Oh, my God. I\u2019m at a Bob Mould show, and it seems like it\u2019s been an hour and a half of the same song. It\u2019s incredible.\u2019 At first, I sort of took offense to it, and then I realized, no, that\u2019s actually like, \u2018Oh, cool.\u2019 Yeah, so it\u2019s all just one big thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
