Major Lazer and Khalid<\/a> use a gunshot as a breakup metaphor on their reflective new song, \u201cTrigger.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s obvious that you\u2019re already gone\/So unleash your weapon, aim it at my chest,\u201d Khalid sings over the group\u2019s simmering synths and minimal electronics. \u201cIf our love is a drug, you\u2019re the one with the trigger\/Shoot me down, shoot me down\/I don\u2019t wanna remember you.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

The brief track \u2014 two verses, two choruses \u2014 builds to a wordless hook of trendy, pitch-shifted vocals and a stuttering dance beat. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTrigger\u201d appears on the upcoming soundtrack to PlayStation 4 game Death Stranding<\/em>, out November 7th. The album also features appearances from Chvrches (\u201cDeath Stranding\u201d<\/a>), Bring Me the Horizon and the Neighbourhood, among others. <\/span><\/p>\n

Major Lazer \u2014 who recently appeared alongside Beyonc\u00e9 on her song \u201cAlready\u201d from the companion album to The Lion King<\/em><\/a> \u2014 have yet to announce a release date for their upcoming fourth LP, Lazerism<\/i>. They\u2019ve released three singles throughout the year: \u201cCan\u2019t Take It From Me\u201d<\/a> (featuring Skip Marley), \u201cMake It Hot\u201d<\/a> (with Anitta) and \u201cQue Calor\u201d<\/a> (featuring J Balvin and El Alfa).<\/span><\/p>\n

In late July, Major Lazer performed at group member Diplo\u2019s Super Mega Ultra Giant Mad Decent Block Party Festival<\/a>, which also featured Billie Eilish<\/a>, Major Lazer<\/a>, G-Eazy, Miguel<\/a>, Pusha T and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.<\/p>\n
