Tame Impala<\/a>, the music project from Kevin Parker, have announced their fourth studio album, The Slow Rush<\/em>. The LP is due out on Valentine\u2019s Day, February 14th, and will include their previously released single \u201cBorderline,\u201d<\/a> as well as a new song that dropped today, called \u201cIt Might Be Time.\u201d (\u201cPatience,\u201d another track the band released earlier this year, is not currently listed on The Slow Rush<\/em>\u2018s Apple Music track list<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt Might Be Time\u201d combines Parker\u2019s signature spaced-out sounds with a propulsive drumbeat, plunking piano line and screeching, siren-like guitar riff. As the name suggests, the song\u2019s lyrics deal with aging and the inevitable passing of time: \u201cIt might be time to face it\/It ain\u2019t as fun as it used to be, no\/You\u2019re going under\/You ain\u2019t as young as you used to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Slow Rush<\/em> will feature 12 tracks recorded in Los Angeles and in Parker\u2019s hometown of Fremantle, Australia. In May, Parker elaborated<\/a> on the album\u2019s stylistic themes to Rolling Stone: \u201cThe way I\u2019ve dabbled in influences in the past? I\u2019ve been unafraid to go there all the way this time. To challenge what Tame Impala is in terms of how wide it can go\u2026I\u2019ve been embracing my love of weird Seventies stadium rock \u2013 like, epic Meat Loaf stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
