The Late Late Show<\/em> have taken \u201cCarpool Karaoke\u201d to new heights in their latest segment with Kanye West<\/a>. In the clip, the rapper joins host James Corden on an actual airplane to discuss his new album Jesus Is King<\/em> and perform several of songs.<\/p>\n

In the segment, dubbed \u201cAirpool Karaoke,\u201d Corden\u2019s flight home to LA (Flight #808) is canceled, so he calls up West and joins him onboard a plane. It turns out not to be a private jet, but actually a regular airline where West is sitting in coach. \u201cAm I taking the middle seat?\u201d Corden asks. \u201cYes, you are,\u201d West responds, grinning. Corden settles in with his eye mask, inquiring, \u201cAre you a talker or a sleeper? I can do both. We can chat the whole way there if you want.\u201d West, who is clearly very entertained by Corden, agrees to talk.<\/p>\n

West\u2019s Sunday Service choir is also onboard, along with the choir\u2019s leader Jason White, providing the musical selections rather than Corden\u2019s usual car stereo. Throughout the clip the singers take on various West songs, including \u201cJesus Walks\u201d and \u201cSouls Anchored.\u201d The pair also discuss West\u2019s Sunday Service concerts. \u201cIt was something I had a feeling I needed to do that God put on my heart,\u201d West tells Corden. \u201cNow, he keeps on taking me to new levels and taking us to new levels that we didn\u2019t imagine before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corden asks whether West has always felt connected to religion. \u201cGod\u2019s always had a plan for me and he wanted to use me, but I think he wanted me to suffer more and wanted people to see my suffering and see my pain and put stigmas on me and have me go through all the human experiences,\u201d West replies. \u201cSo now, when I talk about how Jesus saved me, more people can relate to that experience. If it was just, \u2018We grew up with this guy and he\u2019s a superstar,\u2019 it\u2019s less compelling than this guy who had a mental breakdown and this guy was in debt.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair also talk about West\u2019s family and his four children (he hopes to eventually have seven children). \u201cIt\u2019s heavenly,\u201d West says of his marriage to Kim Kardashian. \u201cIt\u2019s magnificent.\u201d He adds that God is using him to show off, discussing his past debts and current income. \u201cSo you think your spiritual awakening is\u2026?\u201d Corden asks. \u201cPart of my success,\u201d West responds. \u201cAbsolutely. He\u2019s showing off. He\u2019s showing out\u2026 Kanye West works for God.\u201d<\/p>\n

West released his new album, Jesus Is King<\/em><\/a>, last Friday. The album, a follow-up to last year\u2019s Ye<\/em>, features contributions from Clipse, Ty Dolla $ign, Fred Hammond, Ant Clemons and Kenny G, and production by Timbaland, Pi\u2019erre Bourne and Mike Dean.<\/p>\n
