Due January 31st, the album was self-produced by Mackenzie Scott, a first for the 28-year-old singer-songwriter.<\/p>\n<p>The albums\u2019 lead single \u201cGood Scare,\u201d finds Scott singing about the daunting fear of embracing new love with a heavy dose of wit. \u201cYou make me want to write the country song folks here in New York get a kick out of,\u201d she sings, \u201cI\u2019d sing about knockin\u2019 you up under Tennessee stars.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you fall in love with someone, it\u2019s scary,\u201d Torres says of the song, \u201cbut you have no choice but to keep moving forward even though you have no idea what\u2019s ahead of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KUC13edzkkY?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Silver Tongue<\/em> will be Torres\u2019 first record with Merge Records. The singer-songwriter released her previous record,&nbsp;<em>Three Futures<\/em>, with the indie powerhouse 4AD.
