A day after posting a goofy video for Halloween,<\/a> Haim<\/a> have dropped a new song, \u201cNow I\u2019m in It,\u201d accompanied by a video directed by their frequent collaborator, Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The clip opens with Danielle Haim sitting in a dimly lit Los Angeles bar in a red leather dress. She takes a shot, exits into the sunlight and rushes to a diner, where she dons an apron and starts sloppily pouring customer\u2019s coffee behind the counter. She runs into a thrift store, leaves with a vintage pink Princess telephone and is carried on a stretcher by her sisters Alana and Este, who drop her off at a car wash. \u201c\u2018Cause now I\u2019m in it,\u201d she sings over chaotic beats. \u201cAnd I\u2019ve been trying to find a way back for a minute.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople think \u2018Now I\u2019m in It\u2019 is a breakup song because I sing: \u2018We can\u2019t be friends\u2019 but I\u2019m talking about me and my mind,\u201d Danielle recently told the Guardian<\/a>.<\/em>\u201cIt was gnarly and I was not OK with myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Este added in a statement: \u201cEven when we\u2019re writing about something dark or more serious, we like to tie it up in a bow so that there\u2019s a bit of lightness to it. We want our music, and this song especially, to be the thing that helps you get through that rough time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haim began collaborating with Paul Thomas Anderson in 2017, when they realized the Oscar-nominated director was a former student of their art teacher mother in Los Angeles. Since then, he\u2019s directed the short film \u201cValentine\u201d<\/a> and the videos for \u201cNight So Long,\u201d<\/a> <\/span>\u201cLittle of Your Love,\u201d <\/a>and \u201cRight Now.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cNow I\u2019m in It\u201d follows the sister trio\u2019s buoyant single \u201cSummer Girl,\u201d<\/a> marking their first new music since 2017\u2019s Something to Tell You. <\/em>They recently performed \u201cSummer Girl\u201d on BBC Radio 1\u2019s Live Lounge<\/a>, as well as Lil Nas X\u2019s \u201cPanini\u201d mashed up with Nirvana\u2019s \u201cIn Bloom,\u201d which the rapper\u2019s song interpolates. The band has yet to announce a new album.<\/p>\n
