{"id":491725,"date":"2019-10-30T14:06:15","date_gmt":"2019-10-30T20:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=905833"},"modified":"2019-10-30T14:06:15","modified_gmt":"2019-10-30T20:06:15","slug":"watch-the-trailer-for-new-ronnie-wood-documentary-somebody-up-there-likes-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kqzr\/music-news\/watch-the-trailer-for-new-ronnie-wood-documentary-somebody-up-there-likes-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch the Trailer for New Ronnie Wood Documentary \u2018Somebody Up There Likes Me\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ronnie-wood-doc.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>A new documentary about the life of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ronnie-wood\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ronnie-wood\" data-tag=\"ronnie-wood\">Ronnie Wood<\/a> is coming to theaters in England next month, and you can check out the trailer right here.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ronnie Wood: Somebody Up There Likes Me<\/em> traces the life of the guitarist from his childhood in post-war England through his time in the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/rolling-stones\/\" id=\"auto-tag_rolling-stones\" data-tag=\"rolling-stones\">Rolling Stones<\/a> \u2014 it also details the many addiction issues he faced along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was directed by Mike Figgis, best known for his 1995 Academy Award-winning film <em>Leaving Las Vegas<\/em>, and features new interviews with Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, Charlie Watts and Wood himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in the hands of destiny all my life,\u201d Wood says in the trailer, \u201cand being in the right place at the right time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to early reviews, the film does not shy away from Wood\u2019s history with alcoholism. \u201cIf you\u2019re talking to a sober person, you\u2019re talking to the real person,\u201d his wife Sally says in the trailer. \u201cI prefer the real person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are also testimonials from his bandmates about his pivotal role in the Stones. \u201cThis band works on two guitars,\u201d Richards says. \u201cAnd it\u2019s very important who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wood spent this year playing concerts at football stadiums across America with the Rolling Stones. He\u2019s releasing the Chuck Berry tribute LP <em>Mad Lad: A Live Tribute to Chuck Berry<\/em> on November 19th. That same month, he\u2019s playing a series of Chuck Berry tribute shows around England.
