The song originally appeared on the British pop band\u2019s album <em>Doom Days<\/em>, released this past June.<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/music-video\/\" id=\"auto-tag_music-video\" data-tag=\"music-video\">music video<\/a> for the track, Bastille frontman Dan Smith struggles to repair a crumbling house as it falls apart, all while a giant Alessia Cara looks on through the window.<\/p>\n<p>Smith explained in a statement: \u201cI\u2019d always heard \u2018Another Place\u2019 as a duet and wanted it to be a story told from two perspectives. It\u2019s not something we\u2019ve ever done, outside of our mixtapes, but we are huge fans of Alessia\u2019s \u2014 her voice and her songwriting are so distinct and brilliant \u2014 and we sent it to her to see if she\u2019d be up for jumping on it with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\" readability=\"17.652021089631\">Smith was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bastille-bad-decisions-brexit-865347\/\">interviewed<\/a> by <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> in July, going into detail on the&nbsp;<em>Doom Days<\/em> track \u201cBad Decisions\u201d and its Brexit inspiration. \u201cWe also wanted to look at the national and international bad decisions. Especially when it comes to voting \u2026 Everybody has to live with the consequences of those decisions. In the U.K., we are years on from having voted to leave the E.U., which is something that I, or we, don\u2019t think is remotely a good idea at all. It\u2019s still undecided.
