Stella Donnelly<\/a> gets tangled in a picnic food fight in the hilarious new video for \u201cSeason\u2019s Greetings.\u201d The song is the third track off her LP Beware of the Dogs<\/a>, <\/em>released earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The clip features Donnelly at a cricket field in Perth, Australia, joined by a charming cast of characters that include bandmates Jen Aslett, Jack Gaby, George Foster and Tayla Valenti. They drink, banter at the table and engage in a dramatic basketball match before a food fight ensues. \u201cIf the gravy tasted great\/Why did you pour it all away?\u201d Donnelly sings over subtle, charming guitar chords.<\/p>\n

Donnelly recently described \u201cSeason\u2019s Greetings\u201d to Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> as a \u201cthree-minute audio book\u201d that tells the story of a meal gone wrong. \u201cFrom the moment I wrote \u2018Season\u2019s Greetings,\u2019 I could visualize a video concept for it,\u201d she said in a statement. \u201cI wanted to try to exaggerate the sometimes-nuanced atmosphere of a blisteringly hot, Australian Christmas lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video was directed by fellow Australian musician Julia Jacklin<\/a> and her collaborator Nick McKinlay, who previously directed Donnelly\u2019s video for \u201cTricks.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with Nick and Julia on this made the day so much fun because they were able to actually manifest my ideas into a reality,\u201d Donnelly said. \u201cNo dogs were harmed in the shooting of this film!\u201d<\/p>\n

Donnelly has been on an extensive tour to promote Beware of the Dogs<\/em> since last spring. After touring Japan in December, Donnelly will kick off 2020 at San Francisco\u2019s Swedish American Hall on January 14th. She\u2019ll hit Los Angeles and Chicago before wrapping up at Brooklyn\u2019s Music Hall of Williamsburg January 18th, before she heads home to Australia for a leg of shows.<\/p>\n

Tickets go on sale November 8th at 10am.<\/p>\n
