We recently spoke to Alex and Jack all about ‘Wake Up, Sunshine’ and everything in between.<\/p>\n

Here’s what Alex had to say about about the iconic Britney Spears <\/strong>references in the chorus of new song ‘Sleeping In’:<\/p>\n

\u201cI always really like referencing pop music that I grew up on in our songs in subtle ways. This one\u2019s not so subtle.<\/em><\/p>\n

“It was just a fun line and I thought it painted a cool picture. \u2018Sleeping In\u2019 is honestly one of my favourite songs on the record and I think it\u2019s one which really speaks to the overall vibe of the album. It was a song that, in the process of writing 30 songs, I would always circle back to.<\/em><\/p>\n

“It always felt like a refresher when I thought \u2018Is any of this good?\u2019 This was always the one where I would go \u2018This is good\u2019. It\u2019s just fun. It tastes like lemonade when you listen to it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
