Coriky, the Washington, D.C., band of Ian MacKaye<\/a>, his Evens bandmate Amy Farina and his Fugazi<\/a> bandmate Joe Lally, have dropped a new song, \u201cToo Many Husbands.\u201d The track arrives alongside a new release date for the group\u2019s self-titled debut album, now out June 12th via Dischord.<\/p>\n

\u201cToo Many Husbands\u201d is a jittery but sturdy blast of power trio post-punk, with MacKaye\u2019s jagged guitar and Lally\u2019s bass rumbling over Farina\u2019s skittering drums. Farina handles vocal duties on this song, letting her crisp bellow sail over the instrumental chaos.<\/p>\n

\u201cToo Many Husbands\u201d marks the second offering from Coriky<\/em>, following \u201cClean Kill,\u201d<\/a> which was released in February. The band had initially planned to release the album in March, although it was pushed back amid the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

Coriky formed in 2015 but didn\u2019t play their first concert<\/a> until 2018, at which point they still didn\u2019t even have a name. They recorded Coriky<\/em> last year, and like many of MacKaye\u2019s albums over the past four decades, they did so at Inner Ear Studios in Virginia with engineer Don Zientara.<\/p>\n
