Winter Park Resort is sitting on 83 inches of snow at its base after another snowstorm pummeled the mountain this weekend, and forecasters say there’s more on the way.
The snow that began falling on Sunday and continued into today has Winter Park Resort reporting 8 inches of snowfall overnight, a foot in the last 24 hours and 17 inches over the last 48 hours.
So far this year, Winter Park Resort has seen 274 inches of snowfall.
Winter Park wasn’t the only one to welcome the new snow either. At Granby Ranch, the resort has received 10 inches since Sunday.
“This snow was in line with our expectations,” noted Joel Gratz, meteorologist for http://www.OpenSnow.com in his latest forecast.
Gratz predicted that Monday could bring a few more inches of snow in the morning before the storm tapers in the afternoon.
Wednesday through Saturday should be fairly dry with a chance for more snow on Saturday night or Sunday with snow possibly continuing for many days the following week.
“Also, I took a peek ahead at the long-range forecast into early March and most models show a good chance for storms to continue to track near or over Colorado,” Gratz said. “This is all very good news!”
