The resort, located on the west side of Highway 34 just north of the intersection with Highway 40 in Granby, began accepting guest reservations in early January and plans to open Aug. 1.

“It is going well,” said Cody Fishel, River Run general manager. “It was a cold winter, but the contractors have been incredible. We are on track to open this summer. We are really excited about it.”

Fishel confirmed that work has been finished on the resort’s welcome center, with the clubhouse, community center, fitness center, pool and general store nearing completion. The project’s site work has all been laid out and road-paving work is expected within the next month.

Fishel praised the efforts of local contracting firm Big Valley Construction, based in Granby, which is serving as the project’s general contractor for non-utility focused work.

The resort will hold a soft opening this summer, but did not yet have a specific date for when the first guests would arrive. River Run’s website noted that a soft opening, with limited amenities available, will begin July 1 and an “expanded resort experience” will begin Aug. 1.

Several of the buildings at River Run RV Resort are nearing completion as officials from Sun Communities anticipate the resort’s opening this summer.
Courtesy photo

After vertical construction on River Run’s ancillary structures is completed, work will begin in earnest on the RV sites and other lodging accommodations, to include 212 RV campsites, 83 cottage units and 36 villas.
