Locally, the west, northeast and southeast ends of Grand County, above 9,000 feet, could see between 4 to 6 inches of snow by late Wednesday evening, according to the weather service. Snowfall will be heaviest in the mountains along and south of the I-70 corridor, reaching maximum accumulations of 16 inches by Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Snow showers will increase in the mountains Wednesday afternoon into the evening, with periods of heavy snow occurring in the central mountains, according to the weather service.<\/p>\n<p>The winter storm warning is set to expire Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Improving conditions and a gradual warming trend are expected from late Friday through the weekend, according to the weather service.
