A Grand Lake man who had pleaded guilty to felony theft in relation to a local burglary ring was recently sentenced to one year in community corrections.<\/p>\n

Adam Pritt, 25, was sentenced on Thursday for his involvement in a burglary ring that allegedly committed a string of break-ins in the Grand Lake area from late 2017 to early 2018. Pritt had previously pleaded guilty to the charge as part of a plea agreement with the 14th Judicial District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Pritt was initially charged with a class-five felony for theft between $5,000 and $20,000. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of class-six felony for theft between $2,000 and $5,000 per the agreement, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Pritt, who was out on bond prior to his sentencing hearing, was remanded to the Grand County Jail to await transport to a community corrections facility in northwestern Colorado where he will serve his time.<\/p>\n

He was given credit for one day of time served.<\/p>\n

Pritt was one of six individuals charged with crimes related to the Grand Lake area burglary ring, which also included Joshua Miles, Jorge Varela, Paul Asbury, Colin Sabo and Candice Hewitt.<\/p>\n

Miles\u2019s case was resolved earlier this year when he pleaded guilty to one count of felony theft. He was sentenced to 18 months in community corrections Jan. 29.<\/p>\n

Varela\u2019s case continues to work through the court system, and has been continued until June 10.<\/p>\n

Asbury is preparing for an upcoming jury trial. He was charged with possession of burglary tools and felony theft, and is due to next appear in court July 22. He entered a plea of not guilty to his two charges Jan. 31.<\/p>\n

Sabo and Hewitt are still wanted by court authorities as they failed to appear at their most recently scheduled court proceedings, on Jan. 31 and Jan. 17, respectively. Bench warrants were issued for the arrest of both defendants.<\/p>\n
