\u201cYou can\u2019t keep a bunch of hard-headed rednecks from standing in the rain.\u201d<\/p>\n

So true, TJ Osborne. So true. That was the observation he made live on night one of the CMA Fest\u2019s nightly concerts at Nashville\u2019s Nissan Stadium Thursday (June 6) as he took in the packed crowd rocking out to live country music while it rained for most of the night.<\/p>\n

Brothers Osborne<\/a> was the fifth act to play on opening night, which featured an exorbitant amount of surprise guests.<\/p>\n

Brandi Carlile<\/a>, Midland<\/a>, The Chainsmokers<\/a>, Brooks & Dunn<\/a>, Ashley McBryde<\/a>, Hardy and Morgan Wallen each took a turn in the spotlight with a few of evening\u2019s main attractions. Each headliner had 30 minutes to play a hit-heavy set for a future ABC television special airing Aug. 4 with hosts Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett.<\/p>\n

Tanya Tucker was the first headliner to grace the stage and bring out Carlile. Kane Brown<\/a>\u2019s performance showed the unifying power of music because no matter how hard it rained on the crowd, that didn\u2019t stop them from missing a minute of his performance.<\/p>\n

Lil Nas X was spotted in the crowd to catch Midland\u2019s abbreviated set before heading over to Blake Shelton<\/a>\u2019s Ole Red Nashville for more concerts. Ballerini and The Chainsmokers turned the stadium into a club with a performance of \u201cThis Feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then Brothers Osborne spoiled everyone rotten with TJ\u2019s Freddie Mercury performance style, John\u2019s masterful guitar playing, and surprise appearances by Brooks & Dunn<\/a> and Ashley McBryde<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During Rascal Flatts<\/a>\u2019 concert, fans showed they couldn\u2019t get enough of this household trio. They were positively rabid over \u201cLife Is a Highway,\u201d \u201cI Like the Sound of That\u201d and \u201cBack to Life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then Florida Georgia Line<\/a> poured on the country boy charm well into Friday morning with \u201cY\u2019all Boys\u201d featuring Hardy, \u201cCruise,\u201d \u201cThis Is How We Roll,\u201d \u201cTalk You Out Of It,\u201d \u201cMeant to Be\u201d and \u201cUp Down\u201d featuring Wallen.<\/p>\n

The stadium concerts continue Friday (June 7) with performances by Jo Dee Messina, Little Big Town, Dan + Shay, Thomas Rhett, Eric Church and Carrie Underwood.<\/p>\n
