The meeting kicked off at 7:30 p.m. with all board members present. Also present for the meeting was Grand Lake’s recently appointed interim town manager Greg Clifton, whose tenure officially began July 1.

The meeting began with pointed public comments, during which several residents raised concerns about flooding issues they believe have resulted from excavation work at the Grand Lake Lodge development project.

Additionally, one local property owner noted that an announcement of Monday night’s board meeting and its accompanying agenda were not posted in the Grand Lake Post Office as of Saturday. The revelation led to a brief pause in the proceedings, as town officials and board members scrambled to determined whether notice of Monday night’s meeting had been properly posted in accordance with state law.

Under Colorado law, an official notice must be posted in a designated public place at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. After reviewing the issue with town staff, the Grand Lake Board determined that notification of Monday night’s meeting had not been posted at least 24 hours in advance.

The Grand Lake Board sought legal counsel from the town attorney during a brief phone call. Afterward Mayor Jim Peterson announced the meeting would be rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

via:: Sky-Hi News

Down town Grand Lake.File photo / Byrson Hetzler | Grand County Newspapers Grand Lake’s Monday night board meeting ended shortly after it began as officials postponed the meeting after the town failed to post a state mandated notice.
