A Fraser Winter Park police officer is facing a charge of domestic violence and has been placed on leave while the case is being adjudicated, officials confirmed Thursday.<\/p>\n
District Attorney Matt Karzen said he is not inclined to release the arrest report because the investigation is ongoing, but he said the alleged incident is being reviewed for prosecution.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe matter is still under review,\u201d Karzen said. \u201cHe is charged but \u2026 we\u2019ve got some follow-up investigation to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the Grand County Sheriff\u2019s Office booking log, deputies arrested Sgt. Sean Curran for harassment with a domestic violence enhancer around 10:45 p.m. June 28.<\/p>\n
While the alleged incident occurred within the Fraser Winter Park Police Department\u2019s jurisdiction, spokesperson for the sheriff\u2019s office Dan Mayer said the sheriff\u2019s office handled the criminal investigation to prevent any potential conflicts of interest.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office then sent the report to the 14th Judicial District Attorney\u2019s office, Mayer said. <\/p>\n
The Fraser Winter Park Police Department is also conducting an administrative investigation apart from the criminal investigation to determine whether Curran violated any of the department\u2019s policies, according to Police Chief Glen Trainor.<\/p>\n
Curran has been placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation, said Trainor, who added that he couldn\u2019t comment further because it is a personnel matter.<\/p>\n
Curran\u2019s attorney could not be reached for comment. Curran is scheduled to appear in the Grand County County Court for a continued arraignment at 9 a.m. July 22.<\/p>\n
