The mural is available for sale on Handbid.<\/strong><br \/><em>McKenna Harford \/ mharford@skyhinews.com<\/em><\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>After a month of being on display and catching the eyes of passersby, 19 murals created for Fraser\u2019s Mountain Mural Festival are ready to find homes.<\/p>\n<p>The silent auction for the eight-foot square murals depicting different interpretations of four themes \u2014 the town\u2019s history, local preservation, transportation and outdoor life \u2014 is live on the website and app Handbid.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the auction has drawn a good amount of bidders, said Sarah Wieck, Fraser\u2019s marketing and economic development director. She said the town hopes to sell each mural for a few hundred dollars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIdeally, we will sell them all,\u201d Wieck said. \u201cAround $400 each is what we\u2019re shooting for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some murals already have bidders vying for them, including the festival winner Hector Palacios and runner-up Alexandrea Pangburn.<\/p>\n<p>Half of the proceeds raised by selling the murals will go to the fundraising efforts for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/news\/new-arts-center-will-be-haven-for-artists-creatives\/\">Fraser Center for Creative Arts<\/a>, a proposed $5 million project that will house an art gallery, artist studios, makerspaces and living space. The other half will go directly to the artists.<\/p>\n<p>Wieck said the town is completing the process of creating the nonprofit foundation for the Center for Creative Arts and then will focus on more fundraising efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe groundwork is the 501c3, and after we get that set up, we\u2019re going to move forward from there,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s in the infant stage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murals start at $50 on Handbid and go up in $20 increments.
