Rather, the blotter took a short hiatus in August with the Grand County Sheriff\u2019s Office adjusting how much information it releases&nbsp;in the call logs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Sitting down with Sheriff Brett&nbsp;Schroetlin last week, he explained the change was a result of a few concerns, including inaccuracies and the amount of time it takes to compile the full logs. While the reported call logs were accurate, many times a call was far different from what first-responders experienced when they arrived on scene.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>After sitting down with the Sky-Hi News, Schroetlin has agreed to help us produce the log again in a way that we both hope will satisfy some of these issues.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, Sept. 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3:14 p.m. \u2014 A woman told dispatch her dog had retrieved what she thought might be a human scalp. An investigation revealed it was actually the hair and hide of an animal.<\/p>\n<p>8:48 p.m. \u2014 Kremmling police responded to a call about a driver failing to stay in one lane. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers discovered the individual was not from the area and afraid of the curves in the road.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, Sept. 5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>9:49 a.m. \u2014 Granby police responded to a report of a large nail spill at Mesa Street and Agate Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>3:31 p.m. \u2014 A caller said that trash at a Winter Park short-term rental did not get picked up this week and was attracting bears.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, Sept. 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>11:05 a.m. \u2014 A hit-and-run was reported on Eagle Avenue in Kremmling.<\/p>\n<p>3:03 p.m. \u2014 Someone called the sheriff\u2019s office to ask about the legality of signs posted at an adjacent property.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, Sept. 7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4:26 p.m. \u2014 Police warned two adults about loitering at the Kremmling Post Office.<\/p>\n<p>10:36 p.m. \u2014 A caller told authorities three people were riding bicycles on US Highway 40 by Parshall and weaving in and out of the lanes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, Sept. 8<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4:38 p.m. \u2014 The Grand County Sheriff\u2019s office responded to a second-hand report of people stranded on an island in Shadow Mountain Lake with moose in the area. All of the people were safely on shore within an hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, Sept. 9<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2:32 a.m. \u2014 Someone reported a car horn going off at Zero Street and Topaz Avenue in Granby.<\/p>\n<p>3:34 p.m. \u2014 A bag containing syringes and firearms was discovered in the employees area at a Winter Park business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, Sept. 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>12:43 a.m. \u2014 Someone phoned in a noise complaint against a Granby restaurant. When police arrived about five minutes later, they found the business closed and no music in the area.<\/p>\n<p>6:09 p.m. \u2014 A woman with warrants out of Maryland contacted Fraser Winter Park police to turn herself in.<\/p>\n<p><em>These are just a small number of the calls fielded by Grand County\u2019s dispatchers, first-responders and law enforcement agencies. The police blotter was put together by the Sky-Hi News in conjunction with the Grand County Sheriff\u2019s Office.
