This event was hosted by the Headwaters Center and featured exhibits from the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and live music. Over 70 educators were in attendance and it was nice to show them our appreciation. Thank you to the Headwaters Center.

• The kindergarteners, families, and teachers at Fraser Valley Elementary School would like to thank the Fraser River Valley Lions Club for their continued generous support. Their annual contribution for kindergarten supplies is very much appreciated. This donation is in memory of our late principal, Reba Ferguson, who was passionate and dedicated to early childhood education. Thank you once again, Laurie Ciccarelli and Lindsay Jarzynka along with all our FVE kindergarten families.

• Third grade at Granby Elementary has sent home “Maker Mats” (they’ll be sent out monthly) for students to get creative and invent/create projects at home. Be on the lookout for information coming home from each school.

• Next week, students in Computer Aided Design (CAD) will be conducting a real life problem solving assignment. They may approach staff members and ask how to help solve a “problem” the staff member has in the classroom. It may not be teacher specific as they can ask administrators, custodians etc. For example, one might need a cord holder, specific type of hook, a special doorstop, a unique pen organizer. It should be something that isn’t available to currently buy or the cost is prohibitive. The object should fit in a person’s hand. The students should have a list of five questions to ask and help narrow it down. They will design your product and then we’ll have a Shark Tank type panel for them to pitch their product to other members of the school.

• The middle school science classes will be participating in their annual Colorado River Watershed field trips around the county next week. Students will learn about water uses, water laws, collect data on populations, and become familiar with local water issues.

• Middle Park High School is starting a First Tech Robotics team this year

• Future Business Leaders of America are selling Middle Park High School decals and spirit buttons.
