You either love your country or you don\u2019t"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I feel I must respond to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/opinion\/letters\/letter-constitution-week-was-blatantly-partisan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"the letter from Denise Everham (opens in a new tab)\">the letter from Denise Everham<\/a>, who thought Constitution Week was \u201cnationalism wrapped in God, country and the flag.\u201d She also thought \u201cfaux patriotism disguised as love for the Constitution was disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Actually, I am scratching my head because I don\u2019t see anything wrong with loving the Constitution, as well as God, country and the flag. Furthermore, I have no idea what she means by \u201cfaux patriotism\u201d because you either love your country or you don\u2019t. Period.<\/p>\n<p>We are so blessed to have had founding fathers, who though not perfect, had the vision to write a document that has served us for more than two centuries. While our country is also not perfect, it is still closer to perfection than anywhere else on earth. Patriotism is really just a form of gratitude that we are privileged to be citizens of this great nation.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to thank all the businesses who supported Constitution Week.
