{"id":19628,"date":"2019-10-24T16:33:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T22:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/news\/middle-park-runner-off-to-state\/"},"modified":"2019-10-24T16:33:00","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T22:33:00","slug":"middle-park-runner-off-to-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/krky\/local-news\/middle-park-runner-off-to-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Middle Park runner off to state"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.skyhinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2019\/10\/Screen-Shot-2019-10-24-at-4.40.47-PM.png\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Middle Park sophomore Leah Cormican is preparing for this weekend\u2019s state cross country meet in Colorado Springs after becoming the only Grand County runner to qualify for the big race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Throughout the year, Cormican has consistently posted some of the best finishes among Grand County\u2019s runners, and she was the only one from the county to qualify for state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u201cIt felt really accomplishing,\u201d Cormican said of making the cut. \u201cKnowing that I was the only one was kind of weird, but I was very proud to be able to go to state this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">She won\u2019t be lonely at the meet, though, because Cormican is taking her good friend Maddy Trail with her to the big race.
