If they host, it will be the first time in boys soccer history that they get to host a state tournament game. If they host, the game will be Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 The Middle Park Mountain Bike team had 17 riders participate in the state championship in Durango, including senior Kimo Sullivan, who was racing in his final Colorado High School Cycling League race and has raced in the league for four years. Also, Middle Park Mountain Bike took home the All Star Team Award for the North Conference. This is given to the team that displays exceptional leadership, sportsmanship, a commitment to their coaches, athletes, volunteers and community, and consistently goes above and beyond assisting with race production.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 High school technology students had to design a flyer for a teacher representing something that teacher does. The following students\u2019 posters were chosen to be printed: Keelan Thomas for Monica McFarlin, Hope Newcomer Neeson for Sam Crane, and Sarah Periolat for Sarah Boles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 This week in eighth grade social studies we have been preparing our mock trial, the culminating project for our law unit. Students worked to prepare for a murder case, and all students will have a role to play in our \u201ccourtroom.\u201d Student jurors will determine the defendant\u2019s guilt based on evidence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 MPHS theatre students are gearing up for their production of \u201cFiddler on the Roof\u201d with tech rehearsals next week. They have been working incredibly hard learning lines, music and choreography as well as doing lighting design, set construction, costumes and all other technical aspects of the show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 Students at the Fraser Valley Elementary School created book character pumpkins for the annual challenge. Students were able to pick their book and highlight a character by painting, attaching props, and otherwise transforming their pumpkins. The entries are colorful, unique, and reflect the reading culture at FVE.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">\u2022 This week high school student-athletes mentored GES students in their PE classes. The student-athletes connected with GES students by playing games, encouraging and sharing advice. The high schoolers were truly inspirational and excellent role models for the younger students. Thank you MPHS Panthers Cameron Conger, Robert Graham, Holly Harms, Mia Kaplanis, Katie Mackendrick, Dominyka Reventaite and Jaime Rios for your positive leadership.
