It\u2019s Gilbert\u2019s fifth No. 1 single and Ell\u2019s first. Happy days for all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to give the fans a lot of credit for the life of this song,\u201d Gilbert says. \u201cFrom the beginning, they shared it, streamed it and called up radio to hear it. I\u2019ve been there \u2014 drivin\u2019 around home seeing all the people and places that I used to avoid to keep from thinkin\u2019 about the one that got away. From the minute I heard \u2018What Happens in a Small Town\u2019 for the first time I knew it was a hit that would connect with people, and now it\u2019s changing my life as an artist. I\u2019m beyond grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For a week that\u2019s so busy with country awards ceremonies \u2014 SESAC, ASCAP, BMI and CMA celebrations in a four-day row \u2014 the charts are pretty quiet. There\u2019s only one other new album: Hootie &amp; the Blowfish\u2019s <em>Imperfect Circle<\/em>, which rolls in at No. 3.
