Appreciation of nature and pushing conservation are the main missions of the Great Old Broads and the central themes of the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is about how the wonder in nature can help us rethink a consumer society,\u201d Jacobson said.<\/p>\n<p>Jacobson holds a doctorate in economics and retired as a professor at Regis College in 2018. Her film challenges the economic underpinnings driving climate change and encourages everyone to enjoy nature. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a county like Grand where the majority of lands are public, Jacobson said the message is very necessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s important not just in Grand County, but in all of Colorado,\u201d Jacobson said. \u201cWe have these amazing landscapes and it\u2019s the preservation of lands that feeds our souls \u2014 that rewires our brains to be less self centered and more community minded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The showing will also include snacks and a silent auction at the library.<\/p>\n<p>Jacobson said she hopes Granby and the county as a whole feel inspired after the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope they take away a spirit of opportunity and a spirit of wonder for our natural places,\u201d Jacobson said. \u201cA spirit of committing to help these wild public lands that belong to us all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyhinews.com\/news\/producer-of-wild-hope-wants-film-screening-to-inspire-grand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Sky-Hi News<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A film highlighting the importance of nature and conservation will be screened at the Granby Library at 4 p.m. Saturday.
