A winter storm is expected to bring anywhere from 6-14 inches of snow to Grand County starting Monday evening and continuing into Tuesday afternoon.<\/strong>

A winter storm is expected to drop about a foot of snow on parts of Grand County beginning Monday evening into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

Winter Park, Berthoud Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, Rabbit Ears Pass and Gore Pass are expected to be hit hardest by the storm, with accumulations of 8-14 inches. The NWS issued a winter storm watch for this area.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in Grand, the weather service is predicting slightly less accumulation of just six inches.<\/p>\n

Conditions are expected to begin deteriorating starting Monday evening around 6 p.m., but the worst conditions are likely to be Tuesday morning until around noon, according to the NWS. <\/p>\n

Heavy snow likely over the northern mountains and northeast Colorado Monday night into Tuesday. The heaviest snow is expected north of Interstate 70, where a widespread foot of snow could fall. OpenSnow.com predicts temperatures on Monday will be slightly colder than Sunday, with a high of 25. However, Tuesday\u2019s temperatures won\u2019t see double digits, according to OpenSnow\u2019s forecast.<\/p>\n

While blizzard conditions are not expected, winds from 15-30 mph on Tuesday combined with the heavy snow will make travel difficult and could hinder plows from clearing the roads. The Interstate 70 corridor and the Interstate 25 corridor will be hit the hardest in this storm, the NWS states.<\/p>\n

Snow will slow beginning Tuesday afternoon, the NWS predicts, but a chance of light snow remains for Wednesday through Friday.<\/p>\n
