While the town\u2019s mill levy will not rise, property tax revenue will increase based on the new assessment valuation.<\/p>\n<p>Salaries and wages in the general fund make up 37.3% of expenditures for 2020. Personnel costs reflect a 3% cost of living increase based on the Denver-Boulder-Greeley Consumer Price Index.<\/p>\n<p>The legislative salary has been cut in half due to board meetings being reduced to once a month, and the budget for administration will decrease by $16,000 due to changes in staff.<\/p>\n<p>The town will contribute $46,000 to the Kremmling Chamber, a $3,000 increase. It\u2019s also giving $1,500 to the Headwaters Trails Alliance and $1,500 to the Grand PLACES initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The budget allocates another $15,000 for security improvements at town hall and $8,000 for a new copy machine.<\/p>\n<p>The police department\u2019s budget is down slightly due to changes in staffing. Capital outlay for the department includes a new squad car, spike strip system, in-car citation printers, a Kevlar vest and two iPads.<\/p>\n<p>For highways and streets, the town has budgeted over $15,000 for drainage improvements on Jackson Avenue and almost $50,000 for a replacement project on Kinsey Avenue between 21<sup>st<\/sup> and 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Streets.
