Granby\u2019s next town manager will come from South Dakota.<\/p>\n

Ted Cherry will begin on Jan. 20, according to his employment agreement, which was signed by Cherry on Dec. 12.<\/p>\n

Cherry has been the city administrator for North Sioux City, South Dakota, since 2016. Before that, he held the same position in Leoti, Kansas.<\/p>\n

The Granby Board of Trustees extended an offer to Cherry at the Dec. 10 town meeting. His employment contact outlines a salary of $120,000.<\/p>\n

Cherry was selected from 47 applications for the position, which was narrowed down to five finalists. One of the finalists, Brian Bender, withdrew his application after looking into housing<\/a> in Granby.<\/p>\n

The town manager position has been vacant since October when Aaron Blair<\/a> resigned his position. He held the role for over two years.<\/p>\n
