They were served by crisply uniformed waiters who circulated among the waist-high tables keeping things neat.<\/p>\n<p>The food table offered a constantly replenished tray of large round cookies, each decorated like a vinyl record with \u201cGood Vibes\u201d inscribed on the label.<\/p>\n<p>The two major performance rights societies \u2014 BMI and ASCAP \u2014 sponsored the celebration. Janson is a BMI member; Crowell and Gorley are affiliated with ASCAP.<\/p>\n<div class=\"deferred_content\"> Embedded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OhRjh2U_fHQ?feature=oembed\">www.youtube.com<\/a>. <noscript class=\"deferred_content\" data-deferred-info=\"{&quot;type&quot;:&quot;iframe&quot;}\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OhRjh2U_fHQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen>\t<\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div>\n<p>BMI\u2019s David Preston hosted the proceedings, first giving a rundown on Janson\u2019s rise to prominence and then introducing the other speakers.<\/p>\n<p>After he called the party to order, Preston presented a video of congratulatory messages from some of Janson\u2019s friends and fellow artists, among them Kid Rock, <em>Nashville<\/em> actor and recording artist Charles Esten, songwriter Dallas Davidson and members of the Cadillac Three.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis life hasn\u2019t always been a fairy tale,\u201d Preston said of Janson. He recalled first meeting him when he was \u201cbusting his ass at Tootsie\u2019s Orchid Lounge\u201d in downtown Nashville. Preston said he was so impressed by Janson\u2019s energetic music that he signed him immediately. \u201cThat was 15 years ago,\u201d he added, indicating that some of the intervening years had been rough ones.<\/p>\n<p>Janson recorded for two other major labels before moving to Warner Music Nashville, his current home, in 2015. It was there that he scored his first two big hits, \u201cBuy Me a Boat\u201d and \u201cFix a Drink.\u201d He\u2019s also reached the Top 10 at radio with \u201cDrunk Girl,\u201d with the video later winning an ACM Award.<\/p>\n<div class=\"deferred_content\"> Embedded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VYWhpDcEwm4?feature=oembed\">www.youtube.com<\/a>. <noscript class=\"deferred_content\" data-deferred-info=\"{&quot;type&quot;:&quot;iframe&quot;}\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VYWhpDcEwm4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen>\t<\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div>\n<p>ASCAP\u2019s Mike Sistad spoke on behalf of Crowell and Gorley, noting that the former had co-written ASCAP\u2019s 2018 country song of the year, \u201cBody Like a Back Road,\u201d and that the latter had for the seventh time been named the PRO\u2019s country songwriter of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Sistad said that \u201cGood Vibes\u201d was Crowell\u2019s 11th No. 1 as a writer and his seventh as a producer. He added that Crowell would soon be getting his eighth No. 1 producer award for Dustin Lynch\u2019s \u201cRidin\u2019 Roads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood Vibes,\u201d Sistad continued, is Gorley\u2019s 45th No. 1 and that his 46th and 47th ones are in the chute to be officially celebrated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"deferred_content\"> Embedded from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7TJTxS6Xxhw?feature=oembed\">www.youtube.com<\/a>. <noscript class=\"deferred_content\" data-deferred-info=\"{&quot;type&quot;:&quot;iframe&quot;}\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7TJTxS6Xxhw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen>\t<\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div>\n<p>John Esposito, Warner Music Nashville\u2019s CEO, announced that \u201cGood Vibes\u201d has been certified gold and predicted, \u201cHe will be entertainer of the year\u201d (although he did not specify whether it would be from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association or other awarding body.)<\/p>\n<p>Esposito also lauded Janson for his performance in the 2019 Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has by far been my favorite No. 1 party,\u201d Janson beamed.
